BookV Privacy Policy

In short

BookV has no account and no ads. The app does not send your books and notes to the developer or to any other company.

What is stored on your device

• Books, covers, bookmarks, highlights and notes.
• The app's activity log: versions, device model, error codes, book identifiers. It contains no book text. The app does not write book titles, file paths or book text to the log. We do not check the system messages that end up in the log for personal data.

What iCloud syncs

• Settings and reading position are kept in your iCloud (Apple's key-value storage). The developer does not receive them.

What leaves the device only when you act

• OPDS catalogs: requests, covers and book files are loaded from the addresses of that catalog. Its owner's policy applies to them.
• Wi‑Fi transfer works on your local network and only while you have it switched on.
• The log leaves the device only if you send it yourself, by email (Settings → Diagnostics → Contact the Developer) or through the Share menu. The email also carries the app version, the system version, the device model and your email address. You see the email and its attachment before sending.

AI and translation

AI runs on your device, where the device supports it (Apple Intelligence). Translation is done on the device by Apple's tools; translation language models and speech voices are downloaded by Apple's tools. Book text is not sent to cloud AI services.

What the app does not have

Purchases or subscriptions, sign-in and Sign in with Apple, a device identifier, ads, third-party analytics and third-party tracking SDKs. BookV does not use data for tracking.

Backups

App data may be included in iOS, macOS or iCloud backups. Apple and you manage them; the developer does not control how long they are kept.

Changes

If something significant changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent again in the app.
